AFTER THANKSGIVING HIKE

Need to burn those extra Thanksgiving meal calories? Start out the holiday season on the right foot...burning calories. Join us for this “Black Friday”, 4 ½ mile hike. Fall is a great time to enjoy all the amazing trails we have in the area and have some outdoor fun!
We will hike the southern section, which is an easy flat 4.5-mile trail loop, Dutch Gap Trail. Eagles and other rare birds and a myriad of fish and wildlife can be viewed. This is a unique hike around a James River Tidal Lagoon.
Where to meet: We will meet in the Visitor’s Center and park in the parking lot for Henricus Park/Dutch Gap.

What to bring: Water, sunscreen, and a face mask to use when necessary. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather conditions. We will be around the water, so might get chilly in sections.

This is a popular trail so please follow social distancing protocols.
Pets allowed. Must be on a leash and well behaved.

Directions: Take I-95 North or South to US-1 S/ US-301 S/ Jefferson Davis Hwy. Turn left onto Rio Vista St. Turn left onto Coxendale Rd and follow it for approximately 2 miles, crossing I-95 along the way and going past Old Stage Road. Turn right into the entrance marked by the Henricus Park sign.
